Mute Video & Extract Audio ("the App") is developed by Apuze. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects, uses, and stores.

Data Collection

The App does not collect any personal data. All video and audio processing happens entirely on your device. Your videos, audio, file names and photo library are never uploaded or shared.

Anonymous Usage Statistics

Starting with version 2.0.1, the App sends anonymous usage statistics so we can understand how the App is used and improve it. These statistics include:

• App opens, and which tools are opened and used
• The outcome of each run (for example, how many files were saved or failed) and whether you have Pro
• When the App asks for an App Store rating
• When the upgrade screen is shown, and whether a purchase or restore was started, completed or cancelled (no prices or payment details)
• Basic technical information such as app version, iOS version, device model and language

The statistics are tied only to a random identifier created by the App on your device. They are not linked to your name, email address, Apple ID or any account, and are never sold or used for advertising. Location is not determined from your IP address. The statistics are processed by our analytics provider, PostHog, on servers in the European Union (PostHog's Privacy Policy). You can stop them at any time by deleting the App.

Network Access

Processing works without an internet connection. The App connects to the internet only to send the anonymous usage statistics described above and, through Apple's StoreKit framework, to process in-app purchases and show App Store pages, which Apple handles.

Files and Media

The App accesses your photo library and files only when you explicitly select videos for processing. Selected files are processed locally on your device. Output files are saved to a location you choose (Photos Library or a folder in Files).

Metadata Stripping

The App offers an optional feature to remove metadata (GPS location, dates, device information) from processed videos. This is an opt-in feature controlled by the user.

Processing History

The App stores a local history of processed files (filenames, dates, thumbnails) on your device using SwiftData. This data is stored only on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.

In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase for unlimited access. Purchase transactions are processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

Third-Party Services

The App uses PostHog for the anonymous usage statistics described above. It does not use any advertising services.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App contains no user accounts and no social features, and collects no personal data.
